Call For Papers
Seeking proposals for the 2014 Illinois History Symposium on the theme "The Civil War, Part III: Copperheads, Contraband, and the Rebirth of Freedom," to be held in Charleston, Illinois, March 27-30, 2014. Papers, panels, exhibits, and other proposals will be considered by the Symposium Committee if received by the deadline of October 1, 2013.
The symposium coincides with the 150th commemorations of the "Charleston Riot," the presidential election of 1864, and the passage of the 13th Amendment (2015)
Prospective presenters should submit a 200-word proposal and a CV for considerstion. The symposium is open to scholars, academics, students, and to amateur and professional historians.
